Dancing Bear Mountainside, which used to be the famous Chart House restaurant in downtown Aspen, consisted of the demolition of the existing building and "top down" excavation for a 25 foot substructure. Gould construction worked together with Schnabel Foundation Company to excavate & export the soil. Schnabel installed beams and lagging to create vertically shored walls. The remainder of the work consisted of sub-grade preparation, utility trenching and backfill, backfill of the foundation walls and general site prep. The AT-6 Soil Conveyor made it easy for Gould Construction to backfill the 3 foot wide opening between the shoring and foundation walls in a very short period of time.. |
